On-demand webinar access: Focusing on Near-Misses to Reduce Accidents
About this event
Near-miss occurrences don’t seem overtly dangerous on the surface – after all, no one got hurt. But they are the biggest predictor of workplace incidents over the long-term. The connection has been borne out in multiple studies: more near-misses means a higher likelihood of incidents.
Identifying a near-miss often highlights a process weakness that if not corrected, could lead to dangerous hazards or injury in the future. In a nutshell, near-miss incidents bring to light significant opportunities to improve safety practice, that if embraced effectively, will lead to a reduction in workplace injuries and ill health.
There are several factors critical to the success of any near-miss reporting programme or campaign within an organisation ranging from ease of reporting to providing employees with a closed feedback mechanism to update them on remedial actions.
This webinar will be delivered by James Sharp, Riskex CTO. James is a qualified health and safety practitioner as well as the chief architect behind the Riskex award-winning health and safety management system, AssessNET. James will provide a live demonstration of how AssessNET can help increase the incidence of near-miss reporting and contribute to an overall reduction in workplace accidents, utilising an AssessNET case study where a global facilities management organisation has improved their safety culture through improved near-miss reporting.
Webinar Outcomes
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore the key features of the AssessNET Accident Management and near-miss Reporting modules, as well as come away with a clear understanding of key reasons why it is important to have an effective near-miss Reporting programme in your business. Moreover, James will provide a deeper insight into the linkage between effective near-miss reporting and a reduction in accidents in the workplace.
