James Sharp, Chief Technical Officer and a Director at Riskex is heading off to the mountains of Tanzania next week and will be scaling the heights of Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

In the last eighteen months, James has been on a spectacular journey of transformation, improving his physique and fitness levels, and climbing Kilimanjaro is fulfilling a lifetime ambition.  Reflecting on his progress, he said, “Over the past year I have been busy transforming myself towards a healthier path.  In February 2018 I took the jump to get myself down to a healthy weight and see if it was possible to remove my dependence on blood pressure medication.   Now over a year later, I no longer take any medication and have lost nearly 7 stone in the process.

That’s certainly an impressive achievement in itself and shows that James’s dedicated work ethic at Riskex is just as strong in his personal life.  He said, “I don’t just do this climb for myself, I do it as a demonstration to everybody that if you have an ambition and a challenge in front of you to achieve it, then never lose faith in that ambition. “

James is climbing Kilimanjaro with 3 colleagues from Higham Town Football Club (Northamptonshire), where he is Vice-Chairman and has been a coach for youth football for many years.   The whole trip is self-funded, so that every penny raised will go directly to the Teenage Cancer Trust, chosen as the group all know kids who have been affected by cancer in their younger years.

Team Higham consists of Veena Dhir (mum), Sam Dhir (son), Jay Dhir (son) and James Sharp (Higham Lancasters Football Head Coach). We wish them a safe, successful and memorable trip.
