Chief Minister of Gibraltar, Fabian Picardo announced today that sadly a crew member has died onboard Marella Dream (TUI), currently at anchor in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters (BGTW).

The crew member had reportedly been on board for more than 28 days, and it was claimed to be unlikely that he was infected.  However, he was showing signs of COVID-19, and tests are underway.   If it is found that COVID-19 was the cause, there may be others on board that have also been infected.  Acting on public health advice, the Gibraltar government are not allowing the body to be disembarked and will be asking the vessel to leave BGTW.
